Shot Put

Shot Put

The shot put is a track and field event where an athlete throws a heavy spherical object called a "shot" as far as possible. The athlete holds the shot close to their neck and uses a pushing motion, rather than a traditional throwing motion, to propel it forward from within a designated throwing circle. The distance is measured from the edge of the circle to where the shot lands, and the winner is determined by the farthest valid throw. This event requires strength, technique, and explosive power.
